chq.org Glitches on chq.org

Thanks to those who have alerted us to some glitches on chq.org. Yesterday we experienced an influx of bot attacks on the various submission forms on the site. While that issue has been mitigated, the mitigation tools have caused some back-end conflicts that our IT team and web development consultants are working to resolve. As they work through these issues, you may experience some delays in site loading and errors in how certain pages render. Thankfully most of the site is working properly, if just a little slower than normal; online ticket sales, class registration and other Institution web properties are functioning normally. Please feel welcome to contact us if you experience any further unusual issues when using chq.org.

Weather/Environment and Road/Sidewalk/Walkway Conditions Urgent: Avoid Area Near St. Elmo

For those on the grounds today, please avoid the area around the St. Elmo to the extent possible until further notice. There is no threat, but police and emergency personnel need access to handle a medical emergency. We will provide more information when we have it.

  • Message from President Michael E. Hill:

I write with the sad news that a contractor working on the roof of the St. Elmo fell to his death this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, colleagues and friends and the entire St. Elmo family. Please keep them all close in your hearts today and in the days ahead.

Reverend Paul Womack of the Hurlbut Church has opened up the Hurlbut sanctuary today from Noon-1:30 p.m. for use by anyone who seeks a quiet place to pray or reflect.

We ask that you join us in prayer at this very sad time. From our Director of Religion, Maureen Rovegno:

Source of Life and Love, whose consolation we seek in the midst of tragedy, be now with the family of the deceased as we wrap our hearts around them in shared anguish and suffering for the heart-breaking and sudden loss of his life on this day. Be with them, we pray, as they seek comfort in his memory and live through their life-changing loss and grief. May the felt love of family, friends, and community sustain and comfort them now and in the days to come. We pray this, in community, in the Name of All that is Holy. Amen.
